In 2019, Dotan developed a new Optimist experimental rudder with a super glossy finish.

Our centreboards are made using our know-how technology. In the core of it is combination of very high pressure with thermo-shock. This technology gives our centreboards resilience qualities which are very important on a beat in choppy or rough waters.

In this video, we demonstrate the Rudder 25 with Blade 1, mounted on a 470-class sailing dinghy. This setup shows how the Dotan kick-up rudder works perfectly on boats from 4 to 6 meters (14–20 feet) – including dinghies, catamarans, and day sailors.

Dotan’s kick-up rudder system highlights the concept of synchronized operation of dual rudders. With a clever crossbar mechanism, both rudders can be lifted or lowered in one smooth movement. Ideal for catamarans, where dual rudders are a common feature, and also suitable for sailboats with twin rudder setups.

City Yacht Club

The sailing school invites boys and girls aged 7 to 15 to sailing lessons. Training takes place in Ķīpsala, on the banks of the Daugava River, three times a week, with an experienced coach, Merited Master of Sports, multiple winner of many competitions and participant of the Olympic Games Vita Matīse.

Sailing broadens horizons and disciplines. Children receive both theoretical and practical lessons. Young sailors participate in various competitions in Latvia and abroad.
