Description and Features
The
rudder head is a key component of the steering system, ensuring secure attachment and smooth operation of the lifting and lowering mechanism for the rudder blade. Made from high-strength, corrosion-resistant composite materials, it stands out for its durability and resistance to water, salt, and dynamic loads. The
rudder head is designed for a 28mm diameter rudder shaft.
Design Features:
Quick Rudder Attachment:
The internal reinforcing ribs of the housing form a conical shape, allowing the rudder to be fixed quickly and securely. To install, simply slide the rudder into the housing, and to remove, rotate it around its axis and carefully pull it out. This mechanism is especially beneficial for frequent mounting and dismounting of the rudder.
Built-in Cam Mechanism:
The housing is equipped with an integrated cam mechanism that connects to the rudder blade, ensuring precise control and a secure hold of the blade in the desired position.
Reliable Mounting for Long-Term Use:
For situations requiring long-term attachment, additional mounting options are available. The user can choose the most suitable method from the provided options (see attached photos).
Advantages:
- Convenience: Easy installation and removal of the rudder.
- Flexibility: Ability to choose between temporary or permanent fixation.
- Reliability: The design is engineered to handle demanding operational conditions, ensuring stable performance of the steering system.
The
rudder head is ideal for catamarans, dinghies, and other vessels where frequent adjustments and high reliability in the steering system are essential.
